June Kettles is a Scottish photographer living in beautiful Perthshire. Having worked for ten years as a children's nanny, June began her photographic career by making portraits of the children and families in her care. She discovered such a love for photography that she decided to make it her full time career, and went on to study professional photography firstly at Perth College and finally at Glasgow College of Building and Printing. Since graduating in summer 2000, June has enjoyed a creative and variable workload.

"I particularly enjoy working with people and portraiture forms a great deal of my work. From a wedding album to a children's portrait session my approach is relaxed and natural - no self conscious poses. My wish is to always present the sitter with a variety of high quality images which can be treasured for ever. I often do photo sessions in children's nurseries and playgroups which are highly popular and great fun to do, I always look forward to them. I feel very fortunate to be doing something that I enjoy so much!

June has also held solo exhibitions of her work at various galleries in Perthshire. Inspired by her love of nature and the outdoors, June spends a great deal of time walking with her dog, Munro, discovering new ideas to build upon. In adition to exhibiting work at galleries, June produces prints and cards featuring her photography and attends markets and craft fairs with these. "In all of my photography, I use both film and digital cameras - I believe that both have their place in my work. All black and white prints are hand printed in a traditional darkroom to the highest quality.
